Michael is the Managing Director and is based in our Bellshill branch. He graduated with honours from Strathclyde University in 1987 and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice in 1988. He is also a Notary Public. Since 1990 he has practiced on a daily basis in Hamilton Sheriff Court jurisdiction, having worked as a Solicitor and thereafter, Partner, with T.G. Bradshaw & Company, Bellshill and as a Director of Lanarkshire Law Practice. He is very highly respected amongst his fellow solicitors and the Sheriffs at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
Michael specialises in Family Law and Child Law and has dealt with numerous complicated and difficult cases in those fields. He is currently the Vice-Dean of the Society of Solicitors of Hamilton and District. Since 1995 he has been regularly appointed by the Sheriffs at Hamilton to act as the Court's independent representative in contentious family actions involving divorce, residence, contact, adoption and other issues. In 2008 he was appointed by North Lanarkshire Council as Safeguarder to the Children's Panel to provide independent Reports to the Panel in cases involving children and fulfilled that role until July 2013. Throughout that same period Michael was regularly appointed by the Children's Panel to act at Children's Panel Hearings as Legal Representative to vulnerable adults and children. He is a member of the Family Law Association. He has been a Legal Representative to St. Margaret's Children’s Society since 2013 and a Tutor in Family Law in the Diploma in Legal Practice at Glasgow University since 2011.
Michael is married with three children and one grandchild and lives in Uddingston.
Lynsey Millar is a Director based in our Bellshill office. She graduated with honours from Strathclyde University in 2002 and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law in 2003. She is also a Notary Public.
Lynsey joined the firm in March 2014 and has developed our conveyancing practice which now grows from strength to strength. She has been appointed as the Court’s Independent Representative to carry out the conveyancing in a number of family disputes. Lynsey balances the thriving conveyancing practice with a healthy agency caseload which means she is at Hamilton Sheriff Court on a daily basis. Her experience extends to covering all civil hearings from heritable cases, sequestrations, options hearings, pre proof hearings, case management hearings, opposed motions, child welfare hearings, small claims and summary cause, taxations, assessments, guardianship hearings and debtor court hearings.
Lynsey has built excellent relationships with the Sheriffs at Hamilton, court staff and colleagues. She has been Secretary to the Society of Solicitors of Hamilton and District since May 2012.
Lynsey lives in Coatbridge with her husband and two daughters.
Sharon is the Practice Manager and Law Accountant for the firm. She has worked for Lanarkshire Law Practice since 2015 and within the legal profession for 12 years.
Denise has been working as a Legal Secretary for 28 years covering all aspects of Scottish Law. She also worked in London for 10 years covering English Law. Denise joined Lanarkshire Law Practice in 2011 on her return home from London.
Michelle has been working for solicitors for 33 years and during this time has worked for three firms. Over the last 10 years she has provided admin support and previously worked as a secretary in the conveyancing, criminal and family areas. Michelle joined Lanarkshire Law Practice in 2017.
Claire Donnelly is our Senior Solicitor. She qualified in 2010 having trained in Paisley and since that time has worked in Glasgow and Lanarkshire. Claire specialises in Child and Family Law and has a wealth of experience in dealing with contentious family matters. She works hard to achieve the best possible outcome for clients in what can be difficult and challenging periods in their lives. She regularly appears at Hamilton Sheriff Court and other courts within the jurisdiction whilst representing her clients. Claire also regularly attends at Children’s Hearings to represent both parents and children. She has built up excellent working relationships with fellow peers and Sheriffs at Hamilton through her extensive appearances at Court. Claire appears on a daily basis at Court to undertake the firm’s agency caseload where she appears for agents outwith this jurisdiction.
Yvonne joined Lanarkshire Law Practice in 2016 and work as a Legal Secretary. Prior to joining this firm Yvonne worked for 11 years for the Scottish Government.
